M700 Automated Perimeter

Medmont’s M700 Automated Perimeter of fers practitioners an effective tool for assessing visual fields. It uses standard static perimetry to per form rapid and reliable screening, and threshold tests to assess visual field loss associated with various conditions. The M700 uses a radial pat tern that provides a high density of test points in central regions. This is designed to be comparable but more sensitive to glaucoma than standard 24-2 and 30-2 tests.

Recognised as a value leader in the area of perimetry, the M700 is used globally and provides one of the lowest lifecycle costs to practitioners. The national driver medical standards, Assessing Fitness to Drive, accepts Medmont’s M700 binocular visual field test results as supporting documentation.

ZEISS HFA3

Since its introduction over 30 years ago, the ZEISS Humphrey Field Analyser (HFA) has established itself as a critical tool in the diagnosis of eye disease.

In the time since its launch, developments to the HFA have sought to elevate the visual field-testing experience. The most recent iteration of the Humphrey Field Analyser, the HFA3, offers the SITA Faster 24-2 strategy, supporting up to a 50% decrease in testing times.* The HFA3 also includes guided progression analysis (GPA), allowing for the detection and assessment of changes in glaucoma progression using mixed SITA tests taken on any HFA instrument, including the HFA II. This allows for the maintenance of legacy data when upgrading from the HFA II to HFA3.

As a core part of the ZEISS medical ecosystem and ZEISS Glaucoma Workflow the HFA3 plays a key role in helping customers detect disease early and manage progression reliably.

Preserflo

The Preserflo MicroShunt glaucoma drainage system is intended to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) in the eyes of patients with primary open-angle glaucoma where IOP remains uncontrollable while on maximum tolerated medical therapy and/or where glaucoma progression warrants surgery.

It measures 8.5 mm in length and is made from a uniquely biocompatible material called SIBS -Poly(styrene-block-isobutylene-block-styrene). SIBS has been safely used in cardiac stent coating for over 15 years.

The Preserflo MicroShunt’s size, shape, and fin help keep the device stable and securely in place, and it is designed to resist degradation over time. The procedure is less invasive than traditional glaucoma surgeries. 1

In the pivotal study, the majority (72%) of Preserflo MicroShunt patients were medication-free at 12 months. 1 The study also found that compared with traditional glaucoma surgeries, Preserflo MicroShunt may result in fewer complications after surgery. 1

Spectralis Glaucoma Module Premium Edition

The monitoring of progression of disease in glaucoma requires accurate and reproducible measurements. The Glaucoma Module Premium Edition provides this through a comprehensive and personalised analysis utilising the proprietary Anatomic Positioning System (APS) with a series of unique scan patterns to assess the optic nerve head, the retinal nerve fibre layer, and the macular ganglion cell layer. These APS-based scan patterns are automatically matched to each eye’s unique anatomic landmarks and to the characteristics of fine anatomic structures relevant in glaucoma diagnostics.

The Glaucoma Module Premium Edition compares patients’ eyes to a reference database of normal eyes, noting even very small deviations. The precision of the Spectralis AutoRescan function allows confident identification and monitoring of structural changes from visit to visit.

Miniject

Miniject is iStar Medical’s innovative minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) device for patients with open-angle glaucoma. Targeting the supraciliary space, it delivers meaningful, and sustained control of intraocular pressure (IOP).

The Miniject implant is made of proprietary Star material; a soft and flexible, medical-grade silicone. It has anti-fibrotic properties through its micro-pores, which enable bio-integration and a natural flow of fluid throughout the implant. Three-year follow-up results presented at the 2023 World Glaucoma Congress demonstrate sustained, meaningful, mean IOP reduction of 36%, with 42% of patients medicationfree. Mean epithelial cell density loss at three years was 9% (less than for cataract surgery at two years). 1

VisuAll Visual Field Testing

The VisuAll is a virtual reality (VR) visual field perimeter designed for standardised and mobile assessment of the visual field. This fully featured perimeter is a portable platform that tests perimetry (mono/binocular, visual acuity, colour, mobility, and pupillometry).

Based on VR, artificial intelligence, and augmented technology, it enables eye care providers to monitor common eye diseases.

The VisuAll provides the benefits of:

• Productivity, allowing providers to control more than one device at a time,

• Workflow efficiency, providing instructions and reducing staff load, and

• Ambient control – the VR set blocks the light, which means there’s no need for a dark room.

The VisuAll was validated at the Wills Eye Hospital, and according to the company, a cross-sectional reference study demonstrated that it is as good as, if not better, than the Humphrey Field Analyser. 1

iCare IC200

iCare IC200 is the most versatile tonometer in iCare’s tonometry portfolio. This flagship device offers a Quick

Measure feature to capture intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements faster and easier than before. By capturing IOP with just two or three individual measurements instead of the standard six, test times are shorter. Additionally, with 200º of positional freedom, the iCare IC200 can measure IOP whether the patient is supine, reclined or seated, which is especially useful in clinical, surgical, or emergency settings.

Oculus Corvis ST

The revolutionary Corvis ST records the cornea’s reaction to a defined air pulse with a newly developed high-speed

Scheimpflug-camera that takes over 4,300 images per second. Ensuring accurate intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement is crucial for detecting and monitoring glaucoma and its progression. It is known that corneal thickness and biomechanical properties can challenge IOP readings, however, the Corvis ST provides biomechanically corrected IOP (bIOP) for greater accuracy. The corneal biomechanical parameters provided by the Corvis ST device are also used for normal tension glaucoma screening in the new BGF (biomechanical glaucoma factor) display.

When paired with anterior chamber depth data from the Oculus Pentacam, it delivers a comprehensive examination of a patient’s IOP and anterior chamber.

Optos

Optos has added a blue laser to the standard image generated by red/green lasers to create a single composite red/green/blue (RGB) optomap image. This makes it possible to collect four individual image types with a single capture, saving time, while collecting more information to assist with disease detection, management, and treatment planning.

Visualising multiple image modalities at the same time increases the information available, and having access to more information should empower healthcare professionals to make a more informed decision when diagnosing pathology.

Optos devices produce multi-modality images which can include:

• Colour red/green (rg),

• Red-free (sensory),

• Red (choroidal),

• Autofluorescence (af),

• Fluorescein angiography (fa),

• Indocyanine green angiography (icg), and

• Optical coherence tomography (central and optomap-guided). Visit: optos.com
