Topcon OCT

The suite of optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging devices from Topcon includes the versatile Maestro 2 OCT and the Triton swept source OCT.

The Maestro 2 is a multimodal spectral domain OCT and is the complete workstation for any busy clinic. This fully automated, robotic OCT with colour fundus camera is incredibly easy to use.

The Triton takes the foundation of Maestro and elevates it to a new clinical level with remarkable diagnostic capabilities. The Triton combines swept source OCT technology with multimodal fundus imaging. Swept source provides several advantages over spectral domain imaging. Thanks to its longer wavelength, swept source OCT allows deeper visualisation of retinal layers, and makes it possible to have a better understanding of many macular pathologies.

iCare Eidon

The iCare Eidon widefield TrueColour Confocal fundus imaging system reveals small details from the centre to the periphery, aiding in the detection of pathological signs.

The ultra-widefield view of up to 200° covers a larger portion of the retina, enabling documentation of peripheral retinal pathologies.

Confocal technology images are clear and sharp despite media opacities, and dilation is not needed. A fully automated operation streamlines examination procedures, reducing time requirements, and necessitating only minimal training.

Within the iCare Eidon family there are three different models tailored to diverse needs, they offer TrueColor, infrared, autofluorescence, and fluorescein angiography modalities.

Melbourne Rapid Fields

Research has revealed the power of Melbourne Rapid Fields (MRF) in monitoring retinal disease, whether at home or in the clinic.

Fifty-four age-related macular degeneration cases were followed for a year, with weekly MRF macular field assessments at home and routine clinical reviews. Here’s what was discovered:

• No difference in acuity between in-clinic and at-home measurements,

• Home monitoring has a learning curve for macula thresholds, and

• MRF returned 2.5 dB higher retinal sensitivity than Maia microperimetry.

Patient feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with ease of use rated at 4.6 out of five and comfort at 4.7 out of five. This study heralds a new era in personalised retinal disease monitoring with MRF – precise, patient-preferred, and ready to redefine care standards.

SP.Eye

While intravitreal injections are vital for preventing vision loss, by their nature they are unpleasant for patients. SP.Eye’s intravitreal injection device is an integrated injection system that makes intravitreal injections safer, more comfortable for patients, and faster, leading to efficiency gains in the clinic. SP.Eye also significantly reduces medical waste and the carbon footprint of intravitreal injections.

SP.Eye is also the only sharps safe intravitreal device available, which makes performing injections in remote locations, such as nursing homes, safer.

SP.Eye has been available in the United Kingdom and Europe since 2015 and was recently launched into Australia and New Zealand.

ZEISS Retina
Workplace

Detecting and treating macular disease benefits from a multi-modality approach, combining ultra-widefield retina imaging, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and OCT angiography. ZEISS retina workplace is the first integrated multi-modality software that enables the user to register Clarus ultra-widefield images with Cirrus OCT cube, or raster scans, and OCT angiography images. This capability affords the visualisation of integrated imaging data, all on one screen, in seconds.

ZEISS retina workplace synchronises data so the user can detect and compare macular disease change over time. Users can compare up to three exams on a single screen and document treatment decisions over time to also visualise treatment efficiency for your patient. ZEISS retina workplace also includes ZEISS advanced retinal pigment epithelium analysis for geographic atrophy assessment for a complete solution to managing macular disease.

Huvitz HOCT-1/1F

Huvitz HOCT-1/1F is a fundus camera, personal computer, and optical coherence tomographer in one compact system that provides excellent value and insight for ophthalmology clinics. Providing extensive information in a single image, it features automatic data analysis and comes with multi-purpose diagnostic functions.

One of its optional modules is an innovative angiography with a 68,000 scan/sec feature. This is delivered through One-Button, a function that provides high-resolution images for vessels of the retina and choroid with a quantified index. It is helpful in the early diagnosis and treatment of macular hole, macular degeneration, and other diseases like diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, hypertensive retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion.

Precivia Intravitreal Device

Precivia is a single use, 100% recyclable device that ensures a safer injection procedure and simplifies intravitreal injections. Its special design eliminates the need for a speculum, calliper or pressure plate.

Precivia presents a guide tube accurately oriented to ensure a fixed injection angle of 28°, a fixed distance at 3.5 mm from the limbus, and a controlled depth.

After preparing the patient for the procedure, the Precivia is carefully placed on the patient’s eye with the positioning line on the limbus. By gently pushing down and rotating the Precivia device, the eye is stabilised so the patient feels an anaesthetic effect due to the pressure and cannot see the needle coming. After removing the needle, a rotation post-injection replaces the conjunctiva and seals the injection hole.
