APSPOS Paediatric Eye Care Congress

Ophthalmologists, optometrists, and orthoptists are invited to expand their paediatric eye care expertise and refine their clinical approaches at the upcoming 3rd Asia-Pacific Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology Society (APSPOS) Congress.

The Congress will run from 29 June – 1 July 2025 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

One of the standout sessions at this year’s Congress is expected to be on ‘Extended collaborative paediatric eyecare’, on Sunday 29 June. This workshop will provide a multidisciplinary approach to managing paediatric eye conditions in communities and hospital settings.

A hands-on session in Fresnel prism fitting and paediatric glasses and contact lens dispensing will follow. As early intervention and effective optical solutions are crucial in paediatric cases, this workshop is a must-attend for practitioners eager to optimise their patient outcomes.

MYOPIA: GLOBAL STUDY INSIGHTS

With the growing prevalence of myopia worldwide, particularly in younger populations, the APSPOS Congress will feature a dedicated myopia session led by international experts from groundbreaking studies, including ATOM, LAMP, and repeated low-level red-light therapy. Attendees will gain exclusive insights into the latest findings on myopia control strategies, emerging treatments, and evidence-based interventions.

PLENARY SESSIONS BY INTERNATIONAL EXPERTS

The Congress will also host an impressive plenary session on Monday 30 June, featuring four leading experts who will share the latest updates and research findings in their respective fields:

Professor Jonathan Holmes (USA): Amblyopia update – insights into diagnosis, treatment advancements, and patient outcomes.

Professor Jason Yam (Hong Kong): Myopia update – the latest developments in myopia control and prevention.

Professor Chris Lloyd (UK): Paediatric cataract update – current approaches to surgical and postsurgical management.

Professor Francis Munier (Switzerland): Retinoblastoma update – advances in diagnosis, treatment, and long-term patient care.
