Get Ready for Myopia Action Month

Myopia Profile is promising next month’s Myopia Action Month will be “more focussed, flexible and engaging than ever”.

Founded by Myopia Profile in 2023, Myopia Action Month is an Australian-grown, globally impactful event, which runs each September. The event aims to support eye care practitioners worldwide to turn myopia awareness into action by linking them with online education, resources and insights that translate the latest research into practical, clinically relevant tools and techniques they can apply in day-to-day practice.

Myopia Profile Director Dr Kate Gifford said this year’s event will offer:

Myopia Quick Takes. More than a dozen clinical snapshots on fundamentals from testing to treatments, delivered to you via Myopia Profile’s Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube channels across the month.

Clinical Clarity Series. A weekly 10-minute lecture video covering practice pointers on getting started, screen time, optical treatments and atropine. These will be available through MyopiaAction.com and YouTube.

Practice Essentials. Spotlights on resources available from Myopia Profile and its industry partners, helping you with your next steps in myopia management.

“We know from our own surveys that our colleagues want to take the next steps in powering up their myopia management practices, with over one-third citing more selflearning as their foremost focus,” said Dr Gifford. “Around one-quarter cite their key objective being to set up steps in clinical communication and patient education; and another quarter in building a patient base through marketing and public awareness.”

Myopia Profile will also offer a social media kit for free download, encouraging eye care practitioners to demonstrate their experience and special interest in myopia management.
