Oertli Surgical Platforms

Oertli’s surgical platforms are designed to support ophthalmic surgeons, particularly vitreoretinal specialists, by enhancing their surgical experience.

The OS 4 system offers a versatile solution for posterior segment surgery, featuring a multi-pump fluidics system with proprietary SPEEP (speed and precision) function and optional integrated laser and illumination options. Its design supports efficient workflow and precise control during delicate procedures.

To expand on these possibilities, the Faros system balances portability with advanced dual-pump functionality at a low cost.

The CataRhex 3 provides a compact alternative for cataract surgeries in mobile or space-limited environments.

Blutein Dyes

In addition to its proven range of Stellaris anterior, posterior combined, and laser machines, Bausch and Lomb now also has a range of selective dyes to help visualise the anterior capsule (Dye200), the vitreous (Dye300), and a combined stain for visualising the epiretinal membrane and the internal limiting membrane (Dye500). Unlike other synthetic dyes, Bausch and Lomb’s Blutein dyes contain naturally sourced lutein, which may help protect the retina during surgery by absorbing blue light, acting as an antioxidant that may be harmful to the retina, and by reducing iatrogenic stress to the retina, allowing faster recovery after surgery.

AJL Siobal Silicone Oils

AJL Siobal Silicone Oils are ultra-purified formulations specifically designed for ophthalmological use, ensuring the absence of low molecular weight components that can be harmful.

These silicone oils are effective in treating conditions such as retinal detachment, proliferative vitreoretinopathy, perforating wounds, and proliferative diabetic retinopathy. AJL offers three different viscosities to suit various medical needs: 1,000, 2,000, and 5,000 centistokes. This range allows ophthalmologists to select the appropriate silicone oil based on the specific requirements of each case, enhancing patient care and treatment outcomes.

MedOne

MedOne manufactures innovative single-use cannula products for retinal surgery.

VFI cannulae enable fast and easy injection of silicone oil for small gauge surgery, saving time during cases.

The Dual Bore SideFlo cannulae allow the safe injection of perfluorocarbon liquids with better intraocular pressure control and less chance of trauma to the retina by preventing a ‘jet blow out effect’ in these small gauge procedures. Additionally, with the renewed interest in subretinal procedures, MedOne is at the forefront in providing instrumentation for these challenging cases, with an extensive line of subretinal cannulae and a MicroDose Injection Kit.

Spectralis

Imaging underpins fast diagnosis and better decision making in surgical retina. The Spectralis aids this by combining high-quality optical coherence tomography with confocal fundus imaging in one platform.

TruTrack eye-tracking and AutoRescan deliver perfectly registered follow-ups, clarifying progression and true treatment effect. Surgeons can map vitreomacular traction, size macular holes, grade epiretinal membranes, and quantify oedema to triage cases and plan internal limiting membrane (ILM) peel extent. Enhanced depth imaging assesses choroid and lamina in complex detachments or inflammatory disease. BluePeak fundus autofluorescence and MultiColor highlight subretinal fluid, retinal pigment epithelium stress, and subtle tractional folds; fluorescein angiography/indocyanine green angiography reveal ischemia, leakage, and choroidal neovascularisation complicating repair. This modular, upgradeable platform is a true multimodal support.
