The Global Myopia Awareness Coalition (GMAC) has announced its 2024 Board of Directors, reinforcing its commitment to raising awareness and promoting a greater understanding of, and action to deal with, childhood myopia as a treatable disease.
2024 GMAC Board Members include: Jennifer Lambert, CooperVision; Olga Prenat, EssilorLuxottica; Enzu Jeon, Johnson and Johnson Vision; François Couillard, Canadian Association of Optometrists; Matt Geller, Eyes on Eyecare; Nitin Jain, Euclid Vision Group; Bill Scott, Jobson Healthcare Information; Lori Archer, UnitedHealthcare Vision; Sandra Block, World Council of Optometry, and Lisa McAlister, Johnson and Johnson Vision (immediate past Chair).
As an industry-led coalition, GMAC was founded with a mission to promote public awareness of childhood myopia as a treatable disease through direct-to-consumer channels and awareness with governments, nongovernment organisations, and other health care associations.
GMAC does not advocate for specific clinical approaches. Instead, it is designed to stimulate public interest and prompt parental conversations with eye care practitioners.
