The International Orthoptic Congress (IOC) 2025, from 27–29 June in Brisbane, will bring together orthoptists, vision care professionals, and researchers from around the globe for three days of rich scientific exchange and professional development.
Themed ‘Orthoptics down under: A fusion of global expertise’, IOC 2025 will be hosted at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) and will share cutting-edge research, innovative practices, and educational advancements.
This year’s programme will feature plenary sessions, poster presentations, and specialised sessions like the Burian Lecture and Zoran Georgievski Education Forum, alongside workshops focussing on orthoptics’ critical fields.
Topics will include strabismus, binocular vision, amblyopia, neuro-ophthalmology, and emerging technologies in vision care.
The event will recognise groundbreaking contributions to the profession with prestigious awards, such as the Burian Award and the International Orthoptics Association Research Award.
