Idra
Managing dry eye effectively starts with understanding the underlying cause. Idra by SBM Sistemi helps practitioners move from subjective symptoms to objective, measurable evaluation of the ocular surface.
With detailed analysis of tear film, lipid layer, meibomian glands, tear volume, and blinking, Idra provides clear data that can also help patients understand their condition and engage with their treatment. This allows practitioners to identify the right treatment pathway without unnecessary delays.
Complementing diagnosis, Activa by SBM Sistemi offers an in-practice treatment solution for meibomian gland dysfunction, helping practices connect objective diagnosis with targeted treatment and ongoing patient management.

TearStim
TearStim uses patented intense regulated pulsed light (IRPL) technology for the management of evaporative dry eye associated with meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).
Precisely controlled, sequenced light pulses are designed to stimulate meibomian gland function, improve glandular secretion, and support tear film stability. Clinical research into IRPL has reported improvements in non-invasive tear break-up time, lipid layer thickness, and tear osmolarity, alongside improvements in patient reported symptoms.
With a short treatment protocol designed for clinical practice, TearStim provides eye care professionals with a technology-based option for expanding dry eye management beyond symptomatic relief.

Zest
Zest is an in-office treatment created by ophthalmologist Dr Peter Pham.
This simple, office-based treatment uses a specialised gel and cleaning swab to gently lift and remove biofilm through an enzymatic-like biomechanical process that does not induce further tissue injury. Clinical improvements in signs and symptoms are often felt within minutes. No additional equipment or anaesthetic eye drops are required.
Zest is based on okra polysaccharides (or complex sugars) derived from fresh okra. It also contains the following ingredients to add to chemical stability and performance: (natural ingredients and emollients) aloe vera leaf juice, hydrolysed soy protein, caffeine, citrus unshiu peel extract, and raspberry seed oil; (wetting agents) carboxymethyl cellulose and glycerin; (preservatives) ethylhexylglycerin and phenoxyethanol; (surfactants) decyl glucoside and disodium cocoamphodiacetate. It also includes the chelator sodium phytate and sodium chloride solution.

DryEye Forte
DryEye Forte is a practitioner-dispensed oral nutritional supplement designed to complement topical and in-practice treatments as part of a multimodal approach to dry eye management.
Its formula works systemically to support tear film function and anti-inflammatory pathways, combining re-esterified fish-oil omega-3 (EPA and DHA), GLA from borage oil, antioxidant vitamin E, and vitamin D3.
DryEye Forte delivers 1,200 mg EPA and DHA daily. Randomised clinical trials and meta-analyses of omega-3 supplementation have reported improvements in dry eye symptoms and measures of tear film and ocular surface health.1-4 Vitamin D deficiency has been associated with greater dry eye symptoms and reduced tear production.5 Recommended and sold through eye care professionals.

OphthalmoPro eye-light
Espansione’s eye-light combines intense pulsed light (IPL) with low-level light therapy (LLLT/photobiomodulation) to support the management of dry eye associated with meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).
This combined approach is specifically featured in the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society Dry Eye Workshop III (TFOS DEWS III) Management and Therapy report, which cites multiple studies using eye-light IPL and LLLT in patients with MGD.¹ The complementary technologies provide clinicians with a non-invasive, in-practice approach to managing tear film instability and evaporative dry eye beyond symptomatic lubrication alone. With growing clinical evidence supporting light-based therapies, eye-light provides an integrated platform for personalised, evidence-based chronic dry eye management.

Cequa
Dry eye disease (DED) is driven by multiple pathogenic mechanisms, including inflammation.¹ The Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society Dry Eye Workshop III (TFOS DEWS III) framework recommends identifying each patient’s specific disease drivers and tailoring management accordingly.² Multiple treatments, used in combination, may be required to address the underlying drivers of DED.² In patients with an inflammatory component, topical ciclosporin can be incorporated into a broader treatment strategy.²
Cequa (ciclosporin 900 microgram/mL) is an aqueous, nanomicellar, ophthalmic, ciclosporin solution indicated to increase tear production in patients with moderate to severe dry eye disease where prior use of artificial tears has been insufficient.3,4 It is available for prescribing in both Australia and New Zealand.

Lacritec
Lacritec, as a systemic approach to dry eye treatment, is well placed to augment other dry eye treatments to improve outcomes. Lacritec combines the benefits of concentrated fish oil, borage oil, and flaxseed oil.
The physiological and nutrigenomic benefits of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is derived from flaxseed oil, result in a systemic lowering of inflammatory cytokines and prostaglandins that have been directly associated with dry eye symptoms. Specifically, a review on the effect ALA has on interleukin 6 and prostaglandin E2 highlights the unique benefit flaxseed oil provides in the treatment for dry eye disease.1

Albomed Pe-Ha Guard
Albomed Pe-Ha Guard HPMC 2.0% corneal lubricant is easy to use and highly effective in protecting the corneal epithelium during ophthalmic procedures such as cataract surgery, vitreoretinal surgery, and glaucoma surgery. Albomed Pe-Ha Guard may increase the safety of surgery by optimising the surgical view without interruptions. Other advantages include greater workflow efficiency as it frees up the scrub nurse from frequently applying balanced salt solution intraoperatively. Studies have shown improved patient comfort postoperatively as it significantly reduces dry eye issues after surgery.1,2 It may also help to ensure optimum outcomes following surgery involving extended depth of field and multifocal intraocular lenses.
