Mykita x 032c Collab

Celebrating the independent spirit of Berlin, Mykita and fashion and media company 032c have come together to present a collaborative eyewear design.

Marfa encapsulates the 032c aesthetic that is an allegory for freedom, research, and creativity through a voluminous wraparound design with organic lines and a sculptural feel.

The eyewear is made from Mykita’s patented Mylon, a material innovation that allows for maximum volume with minimal weight. The cylindrical silhouette features lenses cut from a rounded shield at a slightly tilted axis, creating surreal lens reflections. Handcrafted at the Mykita Haus in Berlin and available in four colourways.

Linda Farrow x Rowen Rose

Linda Farrow has teamed with the Parisbased womenswear designer brand, Rowen Rose, to create a high summer sunglasses capsule edition featuring two unique sunglass designs.

The styles are perfectly aligned with Rowen Rose’s latest collection Cannes 1971, in which founder Emma Rowen Rose was inspired by the French Riviera holiday vibe of the 1970s, the same decade in which Linda Farrow was created.

Playing with classic summer codes, the two iconic sunglass shapes, Cara and Margot have a clear 1970s feel. Each style comes in three colours.

Cr Labs x Smith Rx ChromaPops

Smith sunglasses sold in Australia are now being exclusively fitted with ChromaPop prescription lenses produced by CR Labs.

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Smith is best known for its snow goggles and helmets. The brand has recently taken a significant strong hold in the outdoor, water and cycling eyewear channels, particularly with the launch of ChromaPop proprietary lens technology, which guarantees a sharpness and contrast of colours. ChromaPop lenses filter light at two specific wavelengths, and eliminate colour confusion for the brain, ultimately recognising true colour, faster, regardless of lens tint.

CR Labs, located in Melbourne, is the first external lab, globally, to be authorised to produce ChromaPop prescription lenses, after completing a rigorous production testing and qualification process.

A range of Smith sunglass designs is now available, matched with five ChromaPop lens colours, covering outdoor activities and light conditions.

Zeal Optics has collaborated with renowned artist Pat Milbery to create its first-ever sunglass artist collection.

The Open Hearts Collection is designed to shine a light on the mental health benefits of time spent in nature, wherever you find it. For each frame sold, AU$5 will be donated to Planet Ark / The Seedling Bank to support their efforts to keep access to nature vibrant and plentiful in Australia.

Also new from Zeal Optics is its proprietary Adventure Ready 2.GO digitally compensated prescription lenses. Designed to keep objects in the distance in perfect focus across the entire lens, including in larger wrap styles for sports, these lenses also enhance near vision in progressive options, specifically for reading digital screens and books.

Sea2see Symbolics

The fishing village of Taghazout on the Atlantic Coast of Morocco was the backdrop to Sea2see’s latest campaign, which features local faces alongside a team of international models creatively adorned in colourful, upcycled, preused items and discarded plastics from the beach.

Sea2see founder, François van den Abeele, said the images taken to promote the latest ophthalmic and sun collection “are full of symbolism, reflecting our deep conviction in circularity, environmental action and the need for widespread material re-use”.

“Travelling to various fishing villages and coastal environments, the scenes express the essence, extraordinary colours, and reality of the coastal and fishing environment, the unique biodiversity in the sea… while the models wear the fishing nets, plastic bottles, fishhooks, and buoys… symbolic of what is discarded on beaches, polluting these spectacular natural shores,” he said.
