Good Optical Services – the supplier of a broad range of industry-leading therapeutic products and optical supplies – has been acquired by Aaron McColl, founder of Aaron’s Eyewear.
Good Optical Services founders, Rick and Marissa Good, established their business 43 years ago and have become a valued supplier to optometrists, opticians, ophthalmologists, hospitals, and universities across Australia and New Zealand. With unwavering support for the industry, they have long held a strong presence at industry trade shows.
To ensure a seamless handover, Mr and Ms Good will remain actively involved during a 12-month transition period, working alongside Mr McColl and sharing their extensive knowledge and relationships built over more than four decades.
A MEETING OF KINDRED SPIRITS
Mr McColl, who runs Aaron’s Eyewear with his wife Heidi, described the acquisition as a meeting of kindred spirits.
“Rick and Marissa have built something truly exceptional,” he said. “I’m both proud and excited to work alongside them over the next 12 months learning from the very best. I feel incredibly fortunate to have their guidance during this time.”
Good Optical Services joins Aaron’s Eyewear as companies of The McColl Group.
A statement issued said the partnership between Good Optical Services and The McColl Group would ensure:
• Business as usual for Good Optical Services customers, with the same trusted team and service.
• Unique brand identities preserved: both Good Optical Services and Aaron’s Eyewear will retain their unique brand identities and service offerings, operating independently of each other and united by shared values.
• A shared commitment to personalised care, quality products and industry ties.
• A smooth transition, with the Goods introducing and guiding Mr McColl through relationships with key customers and longstanding suppliers.
Mr Good, who arrived in Australia from the United States on an Expert’s Visa back in 1980, and established his company with Marissa two years later, said “Good Optical Services has been our life’s work”.
“It’s more than a business; it’s about the people we’ve helped and the community we’ve built along the way” said Mr Good. “Turning 70 this year is a good time for Marissa and I to do some extended traveling and I’m looking forward to reacquainting myself with my seven iron…”
