Systane Complete

Symptoms of dry eye can be confusing. They can range from mild irritation to severe discomfort, with varying symptoms including watering, aching, sore, and tired eyes.1,2

Systane Complete uses HP-Guar and borate in combination with nano-lipid technology to support all layers of the tear film and relieve the symptoms of all types* of dry eye for eight hours.3,4 Upon instillation, the HP-Guar and borate crosslink to form a viscoelastic meshwork.5 This meshwork forms a bandage over the ocular surface, preferentially binding to damaged areas of the cornea6 and increasing retention of the demulcents in the drop, for extended protection and lubrication.5,6

Rinsada

Effective management of ocular allergies often requires a comprehensive approach that addresses removing the allergen from the ocular mucosa.

Rinsada is designed to assist clinicians by providing controlled eyelid irrigation to the conjunctival fornix and palpebral conjunctiva.

Clinical studies have shown a 70% reduction in matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) – a key inflammatory marker, in some patients for up to 12 weeks.1 For allergic rhinitis patients, the current standard of care involves nasal sinus rinsing to remove allergens from the nasal mucosa. Rinsada applies this approach to the ocular surface and has shown that patients who are treated with Rinsada plus topical olopatadine have an immediate symptom improvement superior to topical olopatadine alone.2 This interventional approach to ocular allergies targets multiple points along the allergic cascade and provides long-lasting symptom relief.

Rohto Dry Aid

Rohto Dry Aid is a clinically proven, microemulsion formulation designed to address the three layers of the tear film:

• Mucoaqueous stabilisation: Povidone enhances hydration and reduces friction. • Lipid supplementation: Sesame and castor oils contribute polar and non-polar lipids, helping reduce evaporation.
• Improved spread and stability: Polyoxyl-40 stearate supports tear-film layering and distribution.
• Neurosensory relief: Menthol acts on TRPM8 channels, stimulating basal tearing and providing a cooling, soothing sensation.

Rohto Dry Aid’s unique lipid enhancing formulation, Tearshield technology, is particularly effective for evaporative dry eye. It provides patients with immediate and long-lasting relief – up to 12 hours – from eight common dry eye symptoms, every day. Also available in preservative-free single-use vials.

Espansione Low-Level Light Therapy

Espansione’s low-level light therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive, in-practice treatment that supports the management of dry eye disease and complex ocular surface conditions, including allergic eye disease. Using multi-wavelength light energy, LLLT helps stimulate cellular metabolism, enhance mitochondrial activity, and modulate inflammatory pathways within periocular tissues. This may assist in reducing inflammation, improving meibomian gland function, and supporting overall ocular surface homeostasis.

LLLT can be incorporated into a broader treatment strategy alongside therapies such as lid hygiene, lubricants, and in-office procedures including intense pulsed light, providing clinicians with a complementary, evidence-informed option for patients
with chronic, multifactorial ocular surface disease.

For ophthalmologists managing complex allergic and inflammatory presentations, Espansione’s LLLT offers a valuable adjunct to help improve patient comfort
and treatment outcomes.

Lacritec

Lacritec, as a systemic approach to dry eye treatment, is ideally placed to augment other dry eye treatments and provide superior outcomes. Lacritec uniquely combines the benefits of concentrated fish oil, borage oil, and the proven and professionally researched flaxseed oil.1

The physiological and nutrigenomic benefits of alpha-linolenic acid, which is derived from flaxseed oil, result in a systemic lowering of inflammatory cytokines and prostaglandins that have been directly associated with dry eye symptoms. Specifically, studies showing the effect alpha-linolenic acid has on interleukin 6 and prostaglandin E2 highlight the unique benefit flaxseed oil provides in the treatment for dry eye disease.1
