Specsavers 15th Indigenous Artist Collaboration

Specsavers has marked 15 years of partnership with The Fred Hollows Foundation, unveiling a new range of stylish limited-edition frames created in collaboration with Ernabella artist and Pitjantjatjara woman, Atipalku Intjalki. This is the 10th Indigenous artist collaboration for Specsavers, with AU$25 from each frame sold supporting the work of The Fred Hollows Foundation’s Indigenous Australia Program.

At the heart of this year’s collection is the artwork Tjukurpa Mulayangu, which is deeply rooted in Ms Intjalki’s connection to Country. Her vibrant design portrays her father’s Country, featuring tjanpi (native grass) and numerous tjukula (waterholes). Central to the story is Mulayangu, a wanampi (water snake) whose journey across the APY Lands is said to have created the rockholes that sustain life in the region. Through the work, Ms Intjalki reflects on generations of shared heritage, weaving together ancestral storytelling, landscape, and enduring cultural connection.

“For 50 years, I have made art here in the middle of my community. I paint my father’s Country to keep his story alive,” said Ms Intjalki. “It’s really lovely to see my artwork on the Specsavers frames. I make my work inside the Ernabella Art Centre, and when I walk outside, I see the people in my community, and I feel connected to my Country. I’m happy that everyone, including my family, can see the work I make and the stories I’m telling through this partnership.”

Joanna Poon, Senior Frame Portfolio Manager at Specsavers, said the frames have been designed and manufactured using sustainable materials. Specsavers aims to raise $500,000 for the Foundation through the sale of this year’s limited-edition glasses collection, which is sold exclusively at Specsavers, in-store and online. Each pair comes with a collector’s case and cleaning cloth featuring Ms Intjalki’s design.

70 Years of History

To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Carrera has introduced an exclusive Made in Italy limited-edition capsule collection that reinterprets the brand’s most iconic codes through a contemporary and elevated lens. The capsule draws from Carrera’s historic colours: black, white, and red, with red translated into sophisticated marbled acetates to enhance depth, richness, and premium appeal. Titanium has been introduced for its exceptional lightness and strength, delivering the perfect balance between durability, comfort, and cutting-edge performance.

The temples reinterpret one of Carrera’s most recognisable signature elements while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic.

The capsule features two exclusive styles: Titanio 01, defined by a strong and refined contemporary character, and Titanio 02/C, an optical frame equipped with a foldable magnetic clip-on featuring polarised lenses. Available in limited quantities.

MYKITA’s Versatile Oval

A perfectly balanced oval has unexpected versatility. Depending on its material expression and finish, it can appear soft and sophisticated, understated and architectural, or sharp and urban. Sunglass model Berthold explores this potential through slender acetate rings that accentuate the purity of its oval silhouette. Combined with MYKITA’s ultra-light construction in stainless steel, the design balances graphic precision with exceptional lightness, comfort, and adjustability. The collection demonstrates how colour can fundamentally shift the mood of the same construction. Glossy gold with peridot and raw brown gradient lenses, alongside champagne gold with desert haze and brown solid lenses, offer rich, tonal warmth. Black with taupe pares the design back to a quietly understated expression, while shiny silver with black and silver flash lenses create a cooler, more assertive character.
