Following a sell-out inaugural conference in 2023, senior orthoptists Mara Giribaldi and Dr Chris Hodge have announced they will host the second Art of Ocular Imaging conference in Sydney in June.
Conference founder Ms Giribaldi, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the field of clinical and academic ocular imaging, said the conference aims to highlight the importance of accuracy and competency in imaging while also developing practitioners’ understanding of the subtleties of disease diagnosis through the application of imaging via case-based examples.
“Ophthalmic imaging is central to the diagnosis of ocular disease. It is essential that ophthalmic imagers remain up to date with available diagnostic instruments, and equipped to achieve the highest quality images in order to facilitate the most accurate diagnoses,” Ms Giribaldi said.
The conference is designed for orthoptists and other key imagers within the eye care industry and will be delivered live via lectures and masterclasses, It will include a chance to network with similarly minded colleagues and conclude with the awarding of the Art of Ocular Imaging annual prize for the best submitted ophthalmic image.
