Tango Reflex Neo
Although YAG posterior capsulotomy is a well-understood procedure, shortcomings associated with legacy laser equipment used to perform the procedure may result in ongoing vision problems for some patients.
With Tango Reflex Neo from Ellex, a brand of Lumibird Medical, it is possible to create YAG posterior capsulotomies with fewer iatrogenic floaters, keeping intraocular lenses (IOLs) intact and with precise capsulotomy diameters.
Maintain full visual focus with up to 2 mm extended posterior offset.* Focus depths greater than those conventionally in use for capsulotomy produce a powerful anterior-moving hydraulic-jet effect, translating into neater tissue separation and superior IOL protection against ionised plasma strikes.

Optos
Optos ultra-widefield retinal imaging provides valuable support throughout the cataract patient journey, from preoperative assessment to postoperative monitoring.
A single, non-mydriatic optomap capture can image 200° of the retina in under half a second, helping clinicians document and assess the peripheral retina and identify retinal findings that may influence surgical planning and outcomes.
Optos scanning laser ophthalmoscopy can capture high-resolution images through most cataracts, helping reveal the retinal structures behind media opacity.
Daytona, California, MonacoPro, and Silverstone offer multimodal imaging options, while MonacoPro and Silverstone also integrate optical coherence tomography for detailed retinal assessment.
With Optos Advance, images can be reviewed, documented, and monitored efficiently, supporting streamlined workflows and greater patient engagement.

1stQ AddOn
There are several situations where a 1stQ AddOn supplementary sulcus lens may be required to achieve the best outcome for cataract and refractive lens exchange patients.
1stQ AddOn lenses (Medicontur Group) have very high rotational stability in the sulcus due to the non-torque four-point fixation design. These lenses are available in monofocal, monofocal toric, trifocal, and trifocal toric options.
They allow precise correction of residual spherical and astigmatic refractive errors via the 0.25 D spherical power equivalent steps and up to 11.0 D cylinder powers.
Reversibility of trifocality is possible at any time, via the dual lens procedure or trifocal upgrade, which provides a ‘get out of jail free’ card if the trifocal component becomes inappropriate.

Aeon Protect Plus
Aeon Protect Plus – a pre- and post-surgery dry eye drop – is now registered and available in Australia.
Dry eye may be a hidden obstacle to some patients’ satisfaction with their cataract surgery.
Aeon Protect Plus aims to help with ocular surface disease, before and after surgery, and improve post-surgical outcomes.
Aeon Protect Plus is preservative and phosphate free, and contains next-generation 0.3% cross-linked sodium hyaluronate. Cross-linking retains more water and has a higher viscoelasticity than linear sodium hyaluronate, which boosts hydration and comfort, and stays longer on the eye.
Aeon Protect Plus is contact lens friendly and comes in a 10 mL multidose Aptar dispenser bottle.

RxSight
The RxSight Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) is the first and only intraocular lens that enables postoperative refractive customisation. Using targeted UV light treatments after surgery, the non-diffractive lens can be adjusted to refine refractive outcomes while preserving contrast sensitivity and minimising dysphotopsias.
The LAL is designed to deliver laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis-like visual outcomes1,2 and is well suited to patients who have previously undergone refractive surgery.3 It also enables precise blended vision outcomes, is available in spherical powers from -2.0 D to +30.0 D and can correct as little as 0.5 D of astigmatism. In a bilateral implantation study,4 93% of patients achieved uncorrected distance vision of 6/6 or better, while 94% achieved J2 (N6) near vision or better at best focus.

Cetus NanoLaser
Cetus NanoLaser from A.R.C. Laser uses nanosecond laser pulses for lens fragmentation, providing an alternative to conventional ultrasound phacoemulsification.
Compact and designed to complement existing phaco systems, Cetus enables surgeons to incorporate nanolaser technology into a familiar cataract workflow. Single-use laser handpieces eliminate the cleaning, sterilisation, and tuning required for reusable phaco handpieces.
More than 50,000 nanolaser cataract procedures have been performed worldwide.1 Published comparative studies have demonstrated lower endothelial cell loss and improved preservation of corneal endothelial cell structure with nanosecond laser cataract surgery compared with ultrasound phacoemulsification.2,3
Cetus NanoLaser is now available in Australia and New Zealand exclusively through Spectrum Surgical.

Clareon PanOptix Pro
Alcon has expanded intraocular lens (IOL) innovation, launching trifocal Clareon PanOptix Pro. Leveraging innovative Enlighten Nxt optical technology, Clareon PanOptix Pro delivers the lowest reported light scatter of any trifocal IOL and 94% light utilisation, compared to a theoretical maximum utilisation of 96% for diffractive optics.1-5,*,**,†
The unprecedented 94% light utilisation in a trifocal IOL results in half the light scatter of PanOptix.1-4,*,**,†,§ It also provides more uninterrupted light distribution across the full visual range and is designed for better image contrast, with 16% better image contrast between distance and intermediate.3,†,††
Hence, Clareon PanOptix Pro builds on the clinically proven low visual disturbance profile, high spectacle independence, and high patient satisfaction of PanOptix.6,7,‡,‡ ‡
