Monash University has introduced initiatives aimed at boosting access to tertiary education to under-represented students from regional and rural Australia and low socio-economic backgrounds.

The changes include extending the Monash Guarantee to all regional and remote students; expanding humanitarian scholarship numbers; the rollout of a new Kummargi Yulendj Scholarship Program; and a Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) expansion.

Monash University’s Professor Allie Clemans said the significant changes “embody our ongoing commitment to recognising and addressing the challenges that can impede access to education… we’re not just investing in individuals – we are strengthening the very fabric of our society”.
