All Eyes on O-Show24: 17–18 May, Sydney

O-Show24 is just around the corner and, with a sold-out tradeshow, this boutique eyewear event in Sydney promises to be an exciting opportunity to discover all the latest trends ahead of Silmo in Paris.

This year’s show will include a new Frames Central area comprised of smaller stands in the middle of the floor showcasing brands that are new to the market, including Revo and the Australian brand, Vangaard.

While the event will run over two days as previous, the operating hours have been extended in response to delegate requests.

Amanda Trotman, CEO of the Optical Distributors and Manufacturers Association (ODMA), which organises O-Show, said the extended hours will provide local practices with greater flexibility so that all staff can attend without the need to close doors.

“ With so much eyewear and eye care technology to discover under the one roof, we recommend you invest a few hours in your visit – opportunities like this do not come around too often,” she said. “ You’ll also be able to meet up with peers, enter prize draws, take photos, and create social media content that you can use back in your own practice.”

Complimentary food and beverages will be served to attendees between 5pm and 7pm each day.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops have become a valued part of O-Show and this year’s workshops, to be presented in a meeting room overlooking the trade fair space, have been curated to meet the needs of independent practitioners.

At the time of going to print Ms Trotman was still finalising topics, however she said the intention was to focus on subjects such as stock management, succession planning , leveraging social media, and dispensing tips.

“To encourage people to share ideas and experiences, workshop numbers will be restricted to 30,” she added.

INDUSTRY AWARDS

For the first time at O-Show, industry awards will be presented recognising products, fashion eyewear, and trending items recently launched to the market.

“Our last awards event was at O=MEGA23 in Melbourne, so it will be exciting to see what’s new since then,” Ms Trotman said.

Entries will be on display at O-Show24 and winners will be announced during the networking events.
