Guide Dogs NSW/ACT has launched its first-ever community magazine, bringing together inspiring stories and expert guidance in a fully accessible online publication, designed to strengthen connections within Australia’s vision support community.
The inaugural edition is created in-house and represents a significant milestone in how Guide Dogs NSW/ACT communicates with its community of supporters, clients, and volunteers.
Beyond the Basics
The new magazine features specialised training advice from Ambassador and veterinarian Dr Katrina Warren, as well as personal narratives that define the Guide Dogs experience.
It also showcases the organisation’s broader service offerings, including its cutting-edge assistive technology program. Additional content includes fundraising updates and interactive puzzles, creating an engaging experience that balances information with entertainment.
Michael Apte, Chief Marketing Officer at Guide Dogs NSW/ACT described the new magazine as “a unique opportunity to share some of the community’s inspiring stories and explore the ways we support people living with low vision or blindness, while also celebrating the incredible history of Guide Dogs”.
“It’s a creative way to raise awareness, inspire support, and showcase the breadth of our services – as well as highlighting the incredible volunteers who make the work we do possible”.
Guide Dogs NSW/ACT plans to publish two magazines annually. They will be available on the Guide Dogs NSW/ACT website, with full accessibility features ensuring all community members can engage with the content.
